OFI-400 Optical Fibre Identifier

The OFI-400 optical singlemode fibre identifier is designed to detect fibres carrying live optical traffic. This can help avoid cutting the wrong fibre when carrying out network maintenance and alterations
In addition to detecting the presence of traffic the OFI-400 can also determine its direction
It can also detect test tones (270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz & 2kHz) generated by fibre optic light sources in order to identify fibres
An indication of the optical power level being transmitted in the fibre is also given (without disconnecting or cutting the fibre)
The instrument is simply clamped on to the fibre. It includes clamp anvils suitable for 250µm, 900µm, 2mm and 3mm jacketed fibres
